A message from the facilitation group:
The children’s Advisory Team plays a vital part in the running of the Museum of Childhood Ireland, and its members are just as important as the adult volunteers in making the museum work. Because we want to give the CAT members the same kind of recognition and respect as the adult volunteers, we have supported the creation of this page. Parents were consulted and gave their permission. CAT members chose their images. All members can choose to be on the page or not, and some have opted to remain anonymous.

Marwa
I’m 14 years old and live in Dublin. I was born in Pakistan and moved to Ireland when I was six. I have two sisters and a little brother. I love playing all sports; basketball and Gaelic football are my main ones and I play for my school team.
I’m part of the Museum of Childhood Ireland’s Children’s Advisory Team to help create a museum that represents childhood experiences from all backgrounds. This role gives me the chance to share ideas, make a difference, and ensure every child’s story is heard and valued.

Iarlaith
I am Iarlaith and I was born in 2013. I like sports. I do hurling, football, table tennis and swimming. I also like to play chess. I am from Dublin. I have one brother and one sister. I got into the CAT because my Mum saw it on a website. My favourite food is pizza.

Cathy
I’m currently 18, meaning this is my last year in the children’s advisory team. I live in Dublin, and I absolutely adore the city. I was born in Hong Kong, and we moved here around 3 years ago. I’m an only child, and oddly enough, I think being an only child is better than to deal with siblings.
If you know me, you’d know I love debating. Whether it is in debate competitions or Model United Nations conferences, you’d see me talking on stage a little bit too passionately on politics. For sports, I like to run in parks, and do a little bit of golf or tennis.
I am on the Children’s Advisory Team because I am an opportunist, meaning I grasp on every chance I get to be involved in decision-making. I believe that young people like us should have a voice in our communities, and that we have brilliant ideas to share. But then obviously, I enjoy working with the rest of the team and engage in interesting conversations in each meeting

Julie
My name is Julie and I am 10 years old. I live with my Mam, my Dad and my younger brother and sister and our pet dog in the countryside in County Wexford. I spend most of my spare time reading, writing, playing music and sometimes drama. I love the Children’s Advisory Team. I made some new friends and have so much fun. I joined the MOCI because it’s that kind of group that doesn’t put too much presser on you. You can do things in your own time. Harry and Hadjer are always nice and everyone is friendly (and there’s no adults allowed!)

Annalee
Hi, my name is Annalee and I’m 11 almost 12. I live in Foxford, Co. Mayo with my mum and dad, my sister Jenna, my dog Cookie and cat Sparkles.
I enjoy reading, especially Harry Potter, swimming and art. I like being a part of the Advisory group because it’s fun, I’ve made good friends and I really hope we can help design the museum and see it open soon!

I have 3 pets, a dog named Lily, and two rabbits called Popcorn and Oozey.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, violin, horse-riding, piano and art.
