Remember we will also have a team of writing tutors on hand in our ‘Book Room’ for tips on how to craft your Bloomsday story.*.. and we have prizes for all taking part.
We are dressing up for a stroll around the borough as far as Sandycove. We’d love to see you dressed up too! Prizes for best dressed on the day- use your imagination!
*We’ll be running a ‘Writing and Drawing Joyce’ workshop for children and youth upstairs in our Community Bookshop / Creative Writing space ‘Book Room’ throughout the day. The workshops draw on a school initiative Majella first began over ten years ago to encourage children’s empowerment through a familiarity with, and interest in Joyce, Irish writers, and Poetry from a young age, through hearing and reading the work, and as a creative starting point for essays, poems, song, dance, art, theatre, craftwork…
Saatchi Gallery‘s featured Arist Joe Ryan‘s Exhibition of work featuring local landmarks from Killiney to Dún Laoghaire will be on display upstairs while his black and white mono- prints of James Joyce, and Irish Literary figures will feature in the downstairs gallery.
