Butler Family Pram

The Butler Family pram was purchased in 1959 in England by the Butler Family who had emigrated from Cork to England for work.

Following the birth of their second child in 1962 the pram made the journey back home to Ireland with them, where Tom and Carmel Butler settled in Graintefield, a new housing estate in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

In 1978 the pram re-emerged following the birth of their third child.

The pram was again dusted off in 1993 following the birth of their first grandchild.


It remained in the original House in Dun Laoghaire until it was donated to the Museum by the family in 2025.
