Lynsey, dressed for a feis
“I began dancing at the age of nine with Sandra O’Dea’s Irish Dancing School based in the Phibsboro / Glasnevin area. The school was part of An Comhdháil.
I trained twice and sometimes three times a week, preparing myself for the feiseanna held every weekend. I worked my way up to solo dances, taking part in the Dublin, Leinster, and All-Ireland championships held annually. I also performed in various shows around Dublin, such as those held in Trinity College, and the Four Season’s Hotel.
Irish dancing was a huge part of my childhood and I’m very grateful for the memories it has provided me with.
The dress was bought for me from an Irish dancing shop on Capel street, Dublin, though it’s long gone now. I think the shop was called ‘Irish Dance Wear’ “
Lynsey.
