PhD Candidate, Muireann Ranta, is currently engaged in a research project with early years children to explore, in collaboration with them, their perspectives of nature, sustainability and climate change.
One of the aims of this research project is to “explore possibilities of developing a child rights based education” on topics related to sustainability and climate action.
This research project is linked to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 29: Aims of Education, which includes the rights of the child to develop “respect for the natural environment” as part of their education.
