You are invited around to our’s for tea, cake and tales around the fireside, about play and growing up in Dublin City and suburbs.
The games played, rhymes rhymed, bobbin tanks and ‘gats’ made, ‘pinkeens’ fished for, orchards robbed, the ‘scutting’, the going for ‘messages’ for mammy, and battles to be first in line for a wedding ‘grushie’, the characters, the hijinks, the babies ‘minded’….The rich tapestry of an Irish childhood and growing up in the county of Dublin.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
Workshop facilitated by Katia, all participants were delighted to be asked for their opinions about, and suggestions for all that the museum could be. Everyone shared stories and at times long forgotten memories were sparked. There were frequent bursts of ” Oh! remember when!?” and ” No, no! That isn’t right. It was…”
There was genuine interest in the museum vision, research and mission, with many offers to get involved and requests for more outreach.
We had an ofttimes rowdy but wonderfully convivial evening, with delicious tea and cake, and we can’t wait for the next one!
Evaluations prior to the programme, and outcomes were recorded on the evening by Majella, Eliza and Clare.
