Christmas 2024

The Museum of Childhood Ireland were at Bloomfields Shopping Centre on December 13th for a festive day with McCormick’s Puppets, featuring seasonal performances between 1:00 and 4 pm!
Santa had arrived, but where was Rudolph the Reindeer? And what was Crocodile up to? Plus, we all met Cheeky Monkey and snapped a photo with him!
We also had a 📮special postbox for letters and drawings for Santa/Daidí na Nollag! ✉️ ✍️ 🖼️
No booking was needed – spaces were on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admission was free – Go hiomlán saor in aisce!
Wishing you all a joyful Christmas from the Museum of Childhood Ireland.
Our thanks to Bloomfields Shopping Centre, Dúnlaoghaire!
Beannachtaí na Nollag oraibh! 🎄
Huge thanks too to the museum’s team on the day of Basak Ellibes, Lauren Kavanagh and Grainne, Cumbers and to Pamela Purcell for her help.
We want to say a BIG thank you to the children from Dominican NS in Dúnlaoghaire for decorating our Christmas tree this year. Using recycled and reusable materials in museum workshops they created wonderful gifts and decorations. The children chose a theme of Peace for Christmas 2024.

Until next year! All the beautiful, hand-made decorations have been taken down, packed away carefully by the museum team, and returned to Dominican National School, Dúnlaoghaire to be saved for use again next year:
